I love the depth of this. It's very mysterious, I couldn't figure out what it exactly was just by looking at it: mud or water, why the texture looks like that, why the leaves weren't green, but the small ones were. Now it makes sense :) It kind of makes me sad, melancholy, or something. But timeless at the same time.

Sad is an acceptable emotion, I think :) It's sort of that calm peaceful sad, not the kind that tears your heart apart. It's a beautiful kind of sad, the photo is.

interesting. given that i've never really seen frozen pond or ground ever in my life, i was staring at this photo for quite a while to understand it. hehe... thanks for sharing!
